Position Description The Deployment Manager will actively promote and coordinate the Tesla Supercharger project. The ideal candidate will have experience managing simultaneous infrastructure projects across multiple locations, and will possess drive, logical problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the tactical details of projects. This position also requires a proactive yet calm approach to ensure projects are completed quickly and with high quality. What You’ll Do Manage all phases of the design, approval, and construction of Supercharger sites within the target region and open the required number of sites according to key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct site inspections for construction, engineering, utility, and cost due diligence. Provide site reports and sketches as needed. Review title reports for ownership, liens, and easements to evaluate construction feasibility. Coordinate and review legal documents and plans for road, easement, and property acquisition. Serve as a liaison with utility representatives to determine optimal routes for primary electrical distribution. Meet with permitting and construction officials to understand jurisdictional approval requirements and opportunities for timeline acceleration. Attend public meetings on behalf of Tesla and the Supercharger program. Monitor and manage all required approvals. Review and approve construction bids and change orders. Support the general contractor as needed throughout all phases of construction. Working Hours: 10:00-19:00 Job Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, site construction, and development. Experience as a project manager in the telecommunications, power, or retail industry is preferred. Native-level Japanese and business-level English are preferred. Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time. Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering ahead of schedule while maintaining the highest quality and standards. Advanced knowledge of land acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting processes. Working knowledge of the power integration and utility design process. Proficient in reading, understanding, and modifying layout and construction drawings, including utility design and distribution details. Ability to explain the cost impact of construction design options and propose cost-effective solutions. Ability to communicate and build relationships with property owners, local authorities, utility companies, and other stakeholders throughout the project cycle. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment without formal requirements documentation and without dependency on support staff, and to manage changing priorities. Self-starter approach to breaking the status quo, innovative ideas to improve design, process, assembly, cost, or the company as a whole. Ability to identify critical path issues and implement improvements to shorten the critical path.
